PARK VIOLATION, GRAFTON ROAD: Police cited a Ruth Drive man at 1:47 p.m. April 15 for violation of the city’s new law barring registered sex offenders from the city recreation center and city parks.
Police found the man and his wife at North Park after receiving a call that the man was seen there.
The couple said they had taken a walk in the park and were feeding the ducks there and were not aware of the city ordinance.
The officer noted that the park was “busy with both adults and children” at the time of the call but there were “no signs posted indicating the prohibition against registered sex offenders on city property.” ..Source.. by Sun News staff
this is not a case of entrapment as much as a case of failing to give due notice.
