Here is a perfect example of where the state registry fails to interpret "residence" correctly. For registrants this is a temporary residence, but the state has no such designation, and anyone looking at the registry will also interpret that address as a permanent address. As did the Pendleton Board of Zoning Appeals.3-29-2011 Indiana:
PENDLETON, Ind.— A central Indiana fishing site might need to remove its 50 cabins after it provided temporary housing to recently paroled sex offenders who listed the cabins as their permanent residences.
The Pendleton Board of Zoning Appeals last week revoked a zoning variance that allowed Pine Lakes to have the cabins. Town manager Doug McGee told The Herald Bulletin of Anderson that the cabins aren't zoned for residency. The town gave Pine Lakes 120 days to remove the cabins or face daily fines.
The appeals board is due to consider a new variance for Pine Lakes on April 19.
Pine Lakes manager Peter Walls says a parole officer contacted him in December because recently paroled inmates needed places to stay. His wife, Leanda Walls, says none stayed more than a week. ..Source.. by Chicago Tribune
