On Sunday, federal prosecutors filed charges against Jared Lee Loughner, the man accused of killing five people at a Tucson grocery store on Saturday. The apparent target of the attack, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, survived, but she suffered a gunshot wound to the head -- doctors, somehow, are cautiously optimistic. Thirteen people were also wounded at the Safeway, where Giffords was holding an outreach event.

The five people killed were John Roll, a federal judge who had received death threats of his own; Gabriel Zimmerman, who worked as a staffer for Giffords; Christina Greene, 9; Phyllis Scheck, 79; Dorthy Morris, 76; and Dorwin Stoddard, 76. ..For the remainder of the story.. by Crime Scene KC
